Review by hotel critic
I recently had the pleasure of staying at Ai Maestri Rooms&Cafe, and it was certainly an experience worth sharing with fellow travel enthusiasts. The first thing I noticed was how welcoming the hosts were, providing a warm welcome and a handy map to navigate the area. Located in the picturesque Sasi area, the position of the hotel makes it hard to beat. You can easily delve into the charm of old Matera, with all major landmarks just a short walk away. The room itself was spacious and well-appointed, featuring an electric kettle and a flat-screen TV. The soundproofed environment ensured a serene experience, essential for a good night's sleep after a day of exploring. The housekeeping was excellent, maintaining high cleanliness standards throughout our stay. Breakfast was another highlight, offering more variety than the standard Italian fare, which set us up nicely for our daily adventures. While we encountered a minor inconvenience with the absence of early check-in, the hosts were accommodating and quick to address our needs. Given the competitive pricing during peak times, I would argue that Ai Maestri offers a strong balance of luxury and value in a unique locale, particularly for those after a restful stay in the heart of Matera. It's worth considering for your next getaway!
